- Do not use anything on your tattoo other than what was previously recommended.
- Do not pick, peel, or scratch your new tattoo.
- Do not, under any circumstances, use rubbing alcohol, peroxide, or cortisone on your new tattoo.
- Do not use sponges, washcloths, or anything abrasive while cleaning your tattoo. They can harbor bacteria and may irritate or damage your tattoo.
- Do not let anyone touch your new tattoo.
- Do not go into lakes, hot tubs, pools, etc. These can contain bacteria.
- Do not expose your new tattoo to direct sunlight, including tanning beds.
A high SPF 50+ sunscreen will help protect the crispness and longevity of your tattoo in the future.
Keep your tattoo out of the sun during the first 3-4 weeks of healing. Once the tattoo is completely healed, apply a high-quality SPF sunscreen to help prevent fading.
